Do you need your documents certified and legalized for Jordan?

Certifying and legalizing documents for Jordan is a three step process.  Documents originating from any of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia must first be processed through the State before it can be processed through the US Department of State.  Documents originating from the US Federal Government (Example: FBI, FDA, USDA, Social Security, etc..) does not need state certification and can be processed through the US Department of State and the Jordanian Embassy in Washington, D.C.

For example, if your birth certificate originated from the state of California, it must first be certified through the State of California.  If your birth certificate originated from New York, it must first be certified through the State of New York.
