The first step is to contact an approved FBI Channeler to assist you in obtaining your FBI background check. We can provide you a list of recommended Channelers by email.

If the FBI Channeler is unable to help, please contact the FBI directly.

If you receive your FBI background check in a digital format (PDF copy), go ahead and e-mail it to us with the completed order form and payment (see below). If you receive your FBI background by regular mail (Hard copy), go ahead and mail it to our Washington DC office with our order forms (see below). Note: We can process a digital PDF copy or a hard copy. It’s your choice.  The Chinese Embassy does not have a preference.  Please also include a color copy of your USA passport.  This is the page with your picture and information.

An FBI background check does not require notarization and cannot be processed from any US state.  This document can only be processed through the US Department of State and the Chinese Embassy in Washington, D.C.

Certifying and legalizing (attesting) documents for China is a multi-step process.  In order to process your documents, they will require State, US Department of State in Washington, D.C. and the Chinese Embassy legalization.

The Embassy of China allows the processing of documents issued from all 50 States and the U.S. Federal Government.   Any document certified by the State and the US Department of State can be processed through the Chinese Embassy in Washington, D.C. Our office in Washington, D.C. will hand-deliver and pick-up your documents in just a few short days.

The very first step is to contact our closest office.  We have nine offices throughout the United States to help expedite the processing of your documents.  You can view a list of our office here: https://www.internationalapostille.com/our-offices/  Each of our offices has specific State jurisdictions so it’s important to mail in your documents to the correct office in order to avoid any delays.

Once we have reviewed your documents over the phone, we will email you simple to follow step-by-step instructions including the breakdown in cost, processing time, and our order forms.  Simply complete the order form and credit card authorization form and mail in your original documents to our office for processing.  You will also need to provide us a copy of the signer’s passport.

As of this article, the Chinese Embassy is charging $25 to authenticate personal documents and $50 for business documents.  The Embassy also provide expedited 1-2 day service at an additional cost of $20 per attestation.  We recommend all of our clients expedite their documents through the Embassy in order to avoid any lengthy delays.
