We can obtain an Apostille on your Car Title – DMV Record so you can sell your car or retrieve it from another country. Depending on the U.S. State which issued your documents, we can either Apostille it through the Secretary of the State or the Secretary of the District of Columbia in Washington, DC (Federal Apostille).
If you are currently in the State which issued the car title -DMV record, you’ll need to meet with a local notary who will copy certify your document. Either the notary or you will need to make a color copy of the car title and the notary will attach a document called a “Copy Certification”. It’s important that you find a professional notary with at least a few years of experience. Any errors or delays with improper notarization will cause the document to be rejected by the state costing you time and money. You can also contact your local DMV for assistance in notarizing the record. A notary can travel to the DMV to meet with the official there.
If you are in another country, you can mail your car title – DMV record to our office in Washington, DC for processing. We will have our notary in Washington, DC copy certify your documents and obtain an Apostille through the Secretary of the District of Columbia (D.C.). There is no additional cost to have your document certified in D.C.
Apostilles can be complicated. Don’t leave this process to untrained employees or non-professionals who do not fully understand the Apostille process and the unique requirements of certain countries. Your paperwork could be rejected costing you time and money. Don’t let this happen to you!
