A Certificate of Naturalization is a U.S. Federal Government document issued by Homeland Security (U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Services) and can only be apostilled through our office in Washington, D.C.  The processing time is four business days and we do provide FedEx 1-2 day return shipping at no additional cost.  You can see an example of a U.S. Department of State Apostille on our website.

A Certificate of Naturalization can only be apostilled through the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C.  This document cannot be notarized, copy certified, and no State office can process this document.  All U.S. Federal documents are processed through the Secretary of D.C. or the U.S. Department of State.

Documents destined for countries who are members of the Hague Apostille Convention will receive an apostille.  For countries who are not members, the U.S. Department of State will attach a certificate.

If you do not have your Certificate of Naturalization, please visit the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, here: http://www.uscis.gov/  .  You can also request the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (UCIS) to certify a copy of your document if you choose not to mail in the original.  How Do I Obtain Certified True Copies of a Certificate of Naturalization?

Step 1: Mail-in your original Certificate of Naturalization document or a certified true copy by UCIS to our Washington D.C. office for processing.  Be sure to download our Washington, D.C. order form and credit card authorization form and include these two documents with your order.

Step 2: We will verify and process your document through the U.S. Department of State in Washington, DC in four business days. Please keep in mind that the U.S. Department of State is closed on weekends, major holidays, and when there is adverse weather conditions.

Step 3: Once complete, your document will be picked-up from the U.S. Department of State’s office and dropped off at the local FedEx shipping center.  Your documents will arrive within 1-2 business days (Excluding: Saturday, Sunday, Major Holidays, & International Shipping).  If you require international shipping, please be sure to print the address on the order form.  Additional international shipping rates apply.

Obtaining an apostille can be complicated. Don’t leave this process to untrained employees or non-professionals who do not fully understand the Washington, D.C. Apostille process and the unique requirements of certain countries.
