Embassy & Consulate Legalization

Do you need your documents certified and legalized through an Embassy or Consulate office?

Certifying and legalizing documents is a multi-step process which involves the State, the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C., and the Embassy or Consulate office.  Depending on the country requesting your documents, the processing can be two to three steps to complete.  If the country requesting your documents is a member of the Hague Apostille Convention, then only the apostille is required.

For example, if you need your birth certificate apostille for the United Arab Emirates (UAE), we will need to authenticate your birth certificate from the State, the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C., and the UAE Embassy in Washington, D.C.  In contract, for counties who are members of the apostille convention, the State apostille would be sufficient.
