Apostille a Driver License

Do you need to apostille your driver license? If you are planning to drive in another country (Example: South Korea), you may be asked to obtain an apostille on a color copy of your driver license.   If your driver license was issued from any of the 50 U.S. States, we can help!

The first step is to find a notary who will be able to assist you with the copy certification process.  The process involves making a color copy of your driver license and having it notarized.  Before we can apostille the copy, it must be signed and notarized in the State of issuance.  For example, if your driver license was issued from the State of California, you will need to have a color copy notarized in California.  If your driver license was issued from the State of Texas, the color copy will need to be signed and notarized in the State of Texas before we can apostille it (Texas Apostille).

Note: Each U.S. State issues an apostille and a driver license.  Your driver license must be apostilled from the state of issuance.  If your license is from the District of Colombia (Washington, D.C.), our office in DC can copy certify your license and obtain the apostille.

Some States may refer to this type of notarization as “Copy Certification” while others will have you write out a statement and sign it in front of a notary (Jurat Statement).  We recommend that you find a knowledgeable notary who will be able to help you with the notarization process.

If you are currently outside of the USA, you will need to seek the assistance of a family member or friend who is located in the same State your driver license originates from.  For example, if you are currently in South Korea, and your driver license is from Florida, you can have a family member or friend copy certify your driver license with a notary in the State of Florida and then mail in the document to our Florida office for processing.  Please note that you will need to mail in the original driver license in order for the notary to perform the notarization.

If your driver license originates from: California, New York or Washington DC, we can copy certify your license if you mail in the original to our office.  Please note that we have nine offices throughout the United States and each office can process documents from specific states (State Jurisdiction).  For example, even though we do not have an office in Nevada, our Los Angeles office can process through the State of Nevada.  Our nine offices cover all 50 U.S. States.

Once the copy has been notarized, the second step is to mail in your original notarized copy to our office for processing.  The cost and processing time varies by State.  In a handful of States, a notarized document also requires County Clerk authentication prior to the Apostille.

At USA Apostille, Inc., we take the guesswork out of getting an apostille on our documents.  Our trained and knowledgeable staff are available Monday – Friday from 8am to 7pm to answer your questions and to provide you easy to follow step by step instructions. 1-888-810-4054 or 1-323-909-5741 (International Callers).

Obtaining an apostille can be complicated. Don’t leave this process to untrained employees or non-professionals who do not fully understand the Apostille process and the unique requirements of certain countries. Your paperwork could be rejected costing you time and money. Don’t let this happen to you!
