Legalization Process – Embassy or Consulate

The process of legalizing documents for non Hague Apostille Countries is either a two or three step process.  The steps include State certification, US Department of State certification (if required), and Embassy or Consulate legalization. In addition to the steps mentioned above, some documents may require additional steps to complete (Example: Commercial Invoices and Certificate of Origin).

The actual number of steps would depend on the type of documents you, the State your documents originate from, and the country requesting your documents.
